The Santa Cruz Writer's Club is in the process of applying for a charter to be the twentieth branch of the California Writer’s Club (CWC). The CWC supported writers beginning in 1909. In 2013, CWC has nineteen branches, statewide, and some 1,600 members.
A 501(c)(3), educational nonprofit corporation, CWC, the central organization, is composed of elected members across the state. The central group manages the accounting, legal and insurance functions.
